The Israeli pharmaceutical company Pfizer said Thursday it has received a complaint from a man whose name was not mentioned in the video and has been ordered to pay €1m for the use of a generic version of the drug, known as Viagra, as it had been made under the Israeli law.
Pfizer said that the man's lawyer had requested an investigation into the incident, but had not received any response. He told a news conference that the man had paid the company between $1,000 and $1,500 for the generic version, which is not available in the market.
Pfizer said that the man's son was the first to receive the complaint, and the man's father, who was a pharmacist, was given the opportunity to intervene. The man's mother was not available for comment.
The company said it is seeking a criminal investigation and that it has not yet received any response from Pfizer. It said that the man's father, who was the sole proprietor of the company's business, had received a notification from the company's legal office that he would be taking legal action against Pfizer for the generic version of the drug.
